Painful Bumps Above Ears After Removing Tight Crown Giving Headaches. Will These Bumps Go Away?
For Halloween I wore a super tight crown and for some dumb reason I refused to take it off all night, when I finally took it off right above my ears I had painful bumps, that are sensitive and give me headaches, the bumps have not gone away. Will the bumps go away?
Seems to be due a local bacterial infection of Hair follicles(folliculitis/furuncle) in that area due to occlusion and friction from the crown.
If i was your treating doctor i would have asked you to apply a topical antibacterial ointment like 2% mupirocin twice daily
A week of oral antibiotics (penicillin group) is also advisable if the lesions are multiple and deep seated.
An OTC painkiller like ibuprofen SOS will help you contain the pain.
take care regards
