Painful Feeling Of Fluid Squish Out Below The Patella To Inner Or Outer Knee, sometimes Towards The Femur, Which Can Be Massaged Back To Position. X-ray Normal. Any Ideas?
HI THERE, MY RIGHT KNEE BOTHERS ME..FREQUENTLY WHEN CLIMBING STAIRS OR SQUATTING I HAVE WHAT FEELS LIKE ?? FLUID SQUISH OUT JUST BELOW THE PATELLA EITHER TO THE INNER OR OUTER ASPECT OF THE KNEE. ..INFREQUENTLY IT WILL COME OUT ABOVE THE PATELLA AREA TOWARDS THE FEMUR. I AM ABLE TO MASSAGE IT BACK IN PLACE. IF IT COMES OUT THE LATERAL SIDE IT IS JUST UNCOMFORTABLE, BUT IS VERY PAINFUL IF IT IS MEDIAL OR THE TOP.... I HAVE HAD KNEES XRAYED RECENTLY INCLUDING WHEN STANDING. HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING... ANY IDEAS??
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The feeling of a fluid squishing in the joint can be related to joint effusion or hemarthrosis. This may need a surgical drainage of the fluid and antibiotics to prevent the recurrence. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
