Painful Shin, Discomfort, Iron Deficiency, Shin Splints, Thigh Pain. What Does This Amount To?
Hi my almost 7 year old son has been experiencing pain in his right shin to the point of discomfort from touch. He has an iron deficiency and was recently put on an iron prescription. Podiatry has said they will not see him as it is unlikely an iron deficiency would relate to shin splints. I have a very flat foot and suffer from shin splints, the way he describes the pain is exactly the way I would describe mine even to the point that after walking with the shin pain my thighs will hurt I presume from incorrectly stepping due to the pain he also experiences this. Would it seem appropriate to continue to persue an orthopedic approach given this information?
hello as a father your worry about your son is right but there is nothing wrong with your son, do him a gentle massage to maintain blood circulation for affected area and encourage him to do more physical exercises. in my view there is no need of any type of medicine keep Hb level maintain
