Painful Swelling On The Lower Ribcage, Tender To Touch. Cause For Pain?

Hi, I m hoping someone can assist me with this: I have a painful swelling on the exterior of my right hand lower ribcage that feels like a swollen vein , it runs about three inches from under my ribs and weaves it s way upward to about an inch and a half below the nipple , it s very uncomfortable and very tender to the touch.

First reason for such kind of pain can be trauma. If your had any accident, some blood may be collected there, or there even might be a minor fracture. Getting an X-Ray is important. Otherwise it may Costochondritis. It is the swelling or inflammation of the cartilaginous ends of over ribs. It usually occurs after some heavy weight lifting or physical exercise. Apply some warm compresses. You will require analgesics for a while. In certain resistant cases even steroids may be required. Consult a surgeon for a proper diagnosis and prescription
