Painful Swollen Lymph Nodes In My Neck And Armpit

I am a 19 year old female. My wisdom teeth have been coming in for a while now. But haven t given me much trouble until recently. Sometimes I will get swollen lymph nodes in my neck and armpit. I can t really go to the dentist right now. Is this something to be worried about ? I brush my teeth a lot and am quite ocd about making sure the wisdom teeth and gums around them are very clean. Could this be an infection and if so how can I cure it because like I said I don t have the means to go to the dentist for another month or so. This has been going on for 2-3 months. The lymph node in my armpit is swollen as I type this and quite painful to the touch. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Wisdom teeth usually erupt between 18-25 years of age. A condition known as Pericoronitis results in pain and infection around the wisdom teeth and the infection can spread to other parts of the body. You should consult a Surgeon and get a OPG X-Ray taken to know the actual position of the tooth immediately. Remember Health is Wealth. Excuses for not visiting a dentist will only deteriorate your health.

Hello,

Welcome to healthcaremagic.
The symptoms are usually associated with impacted wisdom tooth which is erupting.

I would suggest you to visit a dentist and get a thorough clinical as well as x-ray evaluation done.

If tooth is malpositioned,it has to be extracted as soon as possible.

If there is adequate space for tooth eruption, flap overlying tooth has to be removed to enhance tooth eruption.

Take amoxycillin along with analgesics.

Maintain oral care.

Gargle frequently with lukewarm saline.

Take care.

Hi,
You have infected wisdom tooth,
As wisdom tooth erupted ,comes out from the gum through skin on it,
At this time there is a pocket between tooth and skin on it,due to lodging of food stuff in this pocket infection occurs causing all these problems.
Do listerine gargles,
Take Tab.Azzithromycin 500mg once a day for three days along with analgesic, anti inflammatory medicines after consulting your doctor.
ok and bye.

Importantly, one needs to know whether the wisdom tooth has adequate space to erupt into the dental arch or if it is impacted. An XRay of the region or an Orthopantomograph (OPG) can reveal the same, if you are unable to visit a dentist immediately.

Many a times, if the wisdom tooth does not have enough space to come out, or if it is located in an oblique or horizontal position, then it might push the adjacent second molar, and that can get decayed too.

So, it is imperative that you visit your dentist as soon as possible.

Up until then, you can take antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medications to temporarily relieve you of the pain.

I suggest...

Tab. Ornof (Ofloxacin+Ornidazole) twice a day for 5 days
Tab Hifenac-D (Aceclofenac+Paracetamol+Serratiopeptidase) twice a day for 5 days
Both the above after meals.

If you suffer from GERD (acidity), add Tab Famtac 20mg twice a day 15mins before meals.
