Painful White Spot In Pupil, Using Contacts. Suggestions?
Hey I noticed that my pupil have a white spot, I have been wearing contacts for the pass 8months. I don't know if this spot may be a result of contact use. Its very painful. The pain started yesterday. And continued during the night. Its not paining when my eyes are open but when the eye lid come in contact with the spot it pains.
Usually due to decreased oxygen supply to the corneal through the contact lens. You must discontinue contact lens wear immediately and show an ophthalmologist ASAP to rule out an early corneal infection. In early stages it usually is harmless but can very quickly develop into a serious infection. Do not self medicate. In the early stages just discontinuation of contact lens and use of lubricating eye drops is adequate but if there is an active bacterial infection then it is serious and requires urgent attention.
