Hi doc, I did a pelvic ultrasound and discovered an anteverted uterus measured 8.3*5.6*5.2 cm. The endometrial thickness is 0.6cm. The uterus is heterogeneous echogenicity and demonstrates an anterior wall fibroid measuring 2.5cm.An additional anterior right intramural lesion is also present measuring 1.4cm and a posterior wall lesion measuring 1cm.Multiplenabothian cystare evident at the crevics what does that means? There is also a small degree of pelvic fluid.
A nabothian cyst is a mucus-filled lump on the surface of the cervix.
Each nabothian cyst appears as a small, white raised bump. There can be more than one.
No treatment is necessary. Nabothian cysts do not cause any problems.
Other findings on ultrasound shows fibroid uterus.
Fibroids are benign tumors of uterus.
Treatment is necessary only if they are causing menstrual abnormality, obstructive symptoms and rapidly increasing in size. Since all the three fibroids are small, you do not need any treatment unless you have any symptoms.
Free fluid at pouch of Douglas indicates ovulation has occurred.
Hope this helps.
regards,
Dr Farha
