Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Periodic Spasms, Jerking Motion In Left Arm. Rotor Cuff Surgeries Done, Shoulder Replaced. History Of Arthritis. Treatment?
My wife has pain and experiences periodic spasm isms or jerking motion of her left arm. She has had numerous rotor cuff surgeries but no relief. She has had her whole shoulder REPLACED because arthritis destroyed the rotor cuff. Infact the RC was so bad the shoulder implant had to be but in backward. However, this condition existed before the shoulder implant. We have gone to many specialist in the last 5-6 years, most have never seen this condition. It is not epilepsy , she was tested for this. Suggestions?
Is she smokes, diabetic or thyroid. It can cause such sensation called parasthesia. I would also suggest you to get your serum B 12 estimation as lack of vitamin B12 causes tingling and numbness and burning in feet. I would also suggest you to get vitamin D estimation and serum calcium level. Till that time you finished with all those investigation i would recommend you to take Pregabalin M tablet.I would also like to take opinion from a neurologist if any thing abnormal in brain.
