Please Suggest Treatment For Excessive Tiredness And Stress

st johns wart and breast feeding
hello! I work 46+ hrs a week and have a 8 month old baby. over the last couple months I have not been able to handle increased stresses at work as well and feel stressed and exhausted when at home too. I'm tired all the time, feel a lot less confidence and feel very isolated as far as my social life. someone just suggested that maybe I should see a Dr about anti depressants. they said they were in a slump too and their Dr told them to just take them for 3 months to help bring them back up to normal. I thought this might be a good idea but my mom suggested trying homeopathic first. so I just bought st johns wart and B 6. I read the label of the st john wart and it said do not take if pregnant or nursing. I am nursing still in the morning and right before bed. usually 7:30 am and then at 8:30 pm. should I not take st johns wart or should it be fine since I'm not full time breastfeeding ? also does this sound like situational depression? thank you!
I am 27 years old, female. 5'4 hight and 161 lbs. I am not taking any medicine other than prenatal vitamins.

Hello,
Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.
I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
From what you have stated it is quite clear that you are having a depressive episode. Depression can occur with regular stress and it can also occur biologically without any stress as well. You need proper treatment for the same. There are various effective therapies for depression like fluoxetine, venlafaxine, bupropion, mirtazapine or escitalopram and they are all very effective and mostly safe. You may also require some benzodiazepines like clonazepam or lorazepam for a short period like 2-3 weeks to reduce the anxiety and help with your sleep.
If you are averse to the drug therapies then there is also an option of cognitive behavioural therapy. This therapy is taken by either a psychologist or a psychiatrist in which the therapist identifies impaired cognitions (Thoughts) and try to correct them. They are 15-20 min weekly session and there should be around 8-10 sessions to help you with your illness.

Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
