Pop Sound When Fell On Knee. Swollen And Tender, Tried Icing, Elevating But Pop Sound Still Heard. What To Do ?
Hello! So three days ago I fell on my knee and it made a popping sound. I believe it dislocated and got popped back in. Its so swollen now and tender on the right side of the knee. I've been icing it and been keeping it elevated and also been using crutches. but every time i try to take a step, my knee pops. I went to the ER and got xrays but they said nothing was broken and it wasn't dislocated. What should I do? Do I need surgery?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The presence of the pop sound in the knee is suggestive of a bone or ligament injury in the knee. You need an MRI scan to find the cause and use a knee brace till then for relief. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
