Hi

Thanks for asking.

Severe pain in the joint after the injury along with popping sound and loss of moment signifies ligamental tear.

Ligaments are the bands joining the two bones, as knee is made up of three big bones and patella, there are multiple ligaments in the knee for the proper mobility of the joint.

I advise you to consult a doctor, you will need imaging to ascertain the damage to the ligament and then the proper repair of it.

Thanks.

Hello,
welcome at HCM.
I have read details of your question.
You should be concerned about your symptoms.
There can be internal derangement of knee. You may have injury to cartilage or injury to menisci and cruciate ligaments.
At present you should have MRI of your knee.
Keep your leg in brace.
Keep it elevated.
Do active toe movement.
Take a good analgesic.
