Pregnancy Confirmed By Urine Test. Want To Use Mtp Kit. Should It Be Done Clinically Or At Home?
my lmp was 14/april/2013 & the pregnancy was confirmed by a urine test, i want to know whether use of a mtp kit is safe ? can i use it at home ? i am scared of surgical mtp at the clinic. i am 37 years old and having a son of 7 years. my experience is generally doctors at the clinic do not advise to use a mtp kit & they advise to go for a surgical mtp . please guide me.
According to your LMP, your gestational age is 5 weeks plus. Medical abortion can be done successfully with MTP kit up to 7 weeks and max 9 weeks.
But this type of medication should be taken under supervision of your doctor to avoid unnecessary excessive vaginal bleeding or other complication. You can't control them at home.
Sometimes, retained bits or placental tissue may be present inside the uterine cavity following medical abortion. Hence one USG scan is required to make a decision for D & C (surgical abortion).
Please consult with your doctor regarding this for proper management. Be well.
