Pregnant. Done Ultrasound, Sac Present, No Fetal Pole Or Heartbeat, Clot In Cervix. Is This Miscarriage Related?
Arrording to the ultrasound im about 6.3 weeks pregnant. I got a vigina ultrasound done last monday and the sac is present which messures to 3.23mm and theirs no fetal pole or heart heat. And I have a clot there in my cervix. I dont know if its too early or not.. according to my period im 7 weeks pregnant and I have a 31 day cycle. I wanna know whats happening and will it lead to a misscarage? Thabks for your time from rachael
Thanks for your question. Your ultrasound indicated that you are six weeks and three days pregnant. With vaginal ultrasound, at this stage of pregnancy, a fetal heart beat can usually be detected. The clot present in the cervix may represent the early onset of a spontaneous miscarriage. The signs would include rhythmic cramping and bright red bleeding from the vagina. This pregnancy may represent an empty sac (no baby) which is commonly called a blighted ovum and represents about half of all miscarriages. A follow up ultrasound one week after the first should clear up the situation. I hope this answers your questions. I am available for further consultation if needed.
