Pregnant. Red Splotches On Shin, Itching. Problem?

I'm 23 weeks pregnant and just today I noticed red splotches on my shins and only my shins and its causing me pain. It almost feels as if I have a ton of bruises on my shin but I haven't done anything to become bruised. They are not raised, but they kinda have a warm sensation and they itch a little bit. I'm going to go to the doc tomorrow but I just wanted to see if I could get an answer or an idea tonight of what could be causing this.
