Pregnant. Rh Negative. Immune Globulin Not Give During First Pregnancy. Coombs Test Negative. Problem?
My sister goes through her second pregnancy. She has blood-type a- and her husband a+. The doctor during the first pregnancy did not provide her with the Rh immune-globulin shot, as medieval as this can sound. She changed a gynecologist who decided to provide her with it later. She just found out about the pregnancy and she is in the 7th week. She underwent a Coombs test which came out negative. Can that indicate that the fetus will have the same blood type with her?
Hi, Thank you for choosing Healthcaremagic. As the coombs test is negative, there is no need to worry. That means the fetus is not affected, you can repeat the ICT -INDIRECT COOMBS TEST in 2nd trimester. In case of any doubt, I will be available for follow ups. If you like my answer kindly rate my answer and write a review as well.
