Pregnant. Scabies Could Have Been Asymptomatic Carrier. Applying Neem Oil To Wrist Creases. Side Effects?

HI. I am 26 weeks pregnant. My GP is concerned that I may have scabies (rash suggestive of, past work in rest home though 2 years ago she thinks I could have been an asymptomatic carrier - with pregnancy kicking off the symptoms). There is a longish wait to see a dermatologist on the public list... so while I wait, I don't see any harm in applying topical neem essential oil to wrist creases, finger webs, behind knees, auxillary, toe webs - all the suspicious burrow places. There seems to be a correlation between abortifacient properties of neem in Early pregnancy, but late 2nd trimester as a topical application - probably ok, right? Any thoughts?

Hello
Thanks for your query.
Neem is beneficient for scabies for sure.
Topical application is absolutely alright.
The link with abortifacient effects is with orally administered neem extracts , or vaginal application.
While you get a proper pregnancy specific prescription, please do go ahead and use the essential oil topically.
Make sure you do see a doctor eventually though for the specific cure.
Take care.
All the best.
