Pregnant. Sore Lips Followed By Inflammation In Side Of Lips With Split Skin. No Help From Creams. Suggest
Hi there, my Wife developed some sore lips within the last couple of weeks. They improved, however the side of her mouth where the parting reaches has recently become inflamed and the skin has split. She was originally using moisturizer which didn't do much, then was recommended a cream by a pharmasist however the inflamation still remains. Her lips remain split and sore, so I've now suggested to keep her mouth as still as possible for the remaining weekend. She is also 28 weeks pregnant and we're almost wondering whether this is causing the inflamation as a side affect from the cream. The pharmasist was made aware though of the pregnancy. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Hi, Some times Vitamin deficiency also leads to sores on lips. Constipation leads to folic acid deficiency . .secondary skin infection may make healing difficult. So try- Vit B complex especially folic acid to be supplemented.. Mix antibiotic skin ointment to moisturizer for application Take doctor’s consultation for mild laxative& oral medicines for infection, as per need. Dietary changes, exercises, increased liquids in diet - for managing constipation. Thanks.
