I am 11 weeks pregnant and I found through Urine culture that I have both of these - 1. escherichia coli (greater than 100,000 colony forming units per mL) 2. pseudomonas aeruginosa (greater than 100,000 colony forming units per mL)
What should be the treatment? Can I take antibiotic? If yes, then which one is safe for pregnancy? Should it be taken orally or through some injection?
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The urine culture results are suggestive of a urine infections. Antibiotic therapy is the mainstay of the treatment. The sensitivity report will guide you regarding the best antibiotic effective against these organisms. You need to consult your gynecologist regarding the same.
