Pregnant, Experiencing Cramping. What Should Be Done?
I am 4-5 weeks pregnant with my 3rd pregnancy. Previous pregnancies were wonderful both deliveries no complications. I went into the er yesterday because I had a spot of blood on my underwear hospital dr said nothing showed up on ultra sounds she wasn t sure if it was threatened miscarriage/ectopic or just too early in the pregnancy. My hcg blood was 314.0 Please help I have had no more bleeding since. But have been experiencing cramping not sure if it s from all the internal tests they did in the er?
hello Thanks for your query. The HCG level at present is inconclusive. A serial HCG would show if the pregnancy is viable ( proper doubling ) or not ( inadequate doubling time of HCG ). For diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy, an ultrasound scan in conjunction with the HCG values is more diagnostic. Am sure the cramps are not due to the internal check up, but due to some pathology All the best.
