Since you are preganent special care should be taken for your treatment. X-rays should be strictly avoided. Superficial caries can be extirpated and filled with a temporary filling material. Take a course of antibiotics and analgesics consulting your OBGYN. Amoxicillin and paracetomol TDS can be savely taken. Take lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash rinses.
Take care!

Pregnant, Had Cleaned Swollen Gums By Dentist, Now In Severe Pain. Cure?
Hello, Thanks for writing to us. Since you are in 2nd trimester of pregnancy, administration of local anesthesia is contra-indicated at this stage. The decayed tooth has to be restored to prevent progression of caries. Since the gum below the decayed tooth is swollen, infection may have spread into pulp or p e ri apical tissue. Further treatment procedure can be done after delivery. Meanwhile, maintain oral hygiene well. Take care.
