Pregnant, Having Jawline Pain, More While Biting, Mouth Movement. Possible Reason?
Hello Dr.
I woke up this morning with what feels like jawline pain. On the right side of my face, in front of my ear (where a pulse can be found) is where the pain is extreme. It gets more noticeable when i bite down or open/close my mouth. I am currently 2 months pregnant. Wondering what it could be and if it could be related to my pregnancy at all. Should i be worried?
This pain is probably originating from the Tempo Mandibular Joint. It could be some inflammation in and around the TMJ area. May require some analgesic antiinflammatry drugs to give the symtomatic relef.
ENT consultation for better openion.
It is not at all related with the preganacy.
Hope your query is answered.
Thanks

There are a number of things that can cause pain in your jaw. Some of these include fractures, misalignment, arthritis, dental abscess andTemporomandibular joint disorder. Temporomandibular joint disorder is the most common problem associated with jaw pain. It is most commonly caused by the grinding of teeth during sleep or while stressed. TMJ can also be caused by habitual gum chewing and nail biting.
I would also suggest you for your temporomandibular joint examination (TMJ).
