Pregnant, Having Sinus Infection, Prescribed Soiramycin, Minoset Plus. Is It Safe?
I am 13 weeks pregnant and have a sinus infection. I am currently residing in Turkey. I was prescribed an antibiotic called Spiramycin. I was also prescribed Minoset Plus which contains 250 mg paracetamol , 150 mg propyphenazone and 50 mg caffeine. I just want to make sure that this is safe for use in pregnancy although I did indicate to the doctor that I am pregnant.
kindly re visit your doctor and tell that you are pregnant . as half the history to the doctor is really harmful.
spiramycin has not been found to be teratogenic and has been found to be safe in the pregnant woman, fetus, and newborn,
it is often used to treat toxoplasmosis during pregnancy and congenital toxoplasmosis . Spiramycin reduces the transmission of toxoplasmosis from the pregnant woman to the fetus in the first trimester of pregnancy
where as the combination of 250 mg paracetamol, 150 mg propyphenazone and 50 mg caffein is contraindicated both in pregnancy and in lactation.
do visit your doctor again before taking the medicines.
take care.
