Pregnant, Ultrasound Shows Slightly Enlarged And Anteverted Uterus With Gestational Sac. What Should I Do ?
hi doc. i m 8 weeks pregnant according to my doc but my ultrasound findings is as follows pelvic sonogram reveals a slightly enlarged and anteverted uterus with note of a single decidualized gestational sac wiht a mean diameter of 14.7 mm (4 weeks 5 days) a single yolk sac is seen however no embryonic pole is seen as of this time. No evident retrochorionic bleeding noted. the uterine adnexal structures are intact, the ovaries are normal in size. no demonstrable adnexal masss noted. Pelvic cul-de-sac is preserved. what should i do? Thanks,
Hi,
If you have had regular 28-30 day cycles prior to this and if you are very sure about your dates, then according to the sonogram report, your pregnancy is not doing well as you have to show a 8 weeks pregnancy while it is only 4+ weeks. If, on the other hand, it is only a tentative date, your sonogram report is essentially normal. A repeat sonogram after about 7-10 days should reveal the fetal pole and the fetal heart. The findings may be delayed sometime by a few days owing to poor resolution of the machines and the skill of the sonologist. Wish you good health.
