Pregnant, Ultrasound Shows Visible Yolk Sac But No Signs Of Fetal Pole. Gestin Given. Suggestions?

i am a six weeks pregnant lady.i have been suggested to go via a ultra sound test. with the report i received from the test it said that the yolk sac visibile but there was no sign of fetal pole. i have been given a medicine name gestin of 5mg. what could be the cause of the fetal pole not being visible till now and what am i suppose to do/

Hello

At six weeks of gestation a regular gestational sac, yolk sac and fetal pole are seen. By seven weeks the fetal cardiac activity is seen.

If there above said findings are not seen, the best management is a wait and watch policy. Arepeat ultrasound is done after a period of two weeks.The causes of fetal pole not seen may be due to:

Irregular cycles and delayed conception,
missed abortion which is confirmed by repeat scan.
