Pregnant With A Little Girl With Turners Syndrome, Having Large Cystic Hygroma With Hydrops. What Is The Turn Out For This?
I m 23 weeks pregnant with a little girl with Turners Syndrome, she also has a very large cystic hygroma with hydrops. I ve been told she will not survive to term and will probably pass around 24-25 weeks. Any experience with this and if so what is the turn out?
Hi. It is really sad to know this , that too at this stage. But it is true. Prognosis is really bad. In Turner syndrome it is 45XO picture. It is chromosomal anomaly.Children born with this have different facial characteristics and are usually mentally retarded. In cystic hygroma, there is a huge swelling at the back of the neck and hydrops is a severe form of Rh incompatibility. Now nothing can be reversed, but for future pregnancy lot of care and timely tests which might have been missed this time. Thanks.
