Prescribe Topomax, Prozac For Migraines, Binge Eating, Depression Symptoms. Are They Correct Medication?
Why would a nurse practioner prescribe topomax and Prozac for a young woman who has migraines, binge eating, and symptoms of depression. She has not been diagnosed with any of these things. This is the first time she has seen a doctor. She was supposed to see the psychiatrist but his office called before the appointment and said he was not seeing new patients but she could see a nurse practioner. It was the nurse practioner who saw her for an hour and then prescribed those two meds.
Hello, Topiramate can be used for migraine prophylaxis and fluoxetine (Prozac) is used for Depression as well as binge eating. However if you have doubts over diagnosis in the first place you should seek a psychiatrist's opinion. Regards.
