Hello,1 month later doctor recognse that i have sugar.my sugar level is 222 before breakfast and after lunch my sugar level was 237.doctor prescribed me to take gluconorm Sr.after 1 month i again checked my sugar level it s 138 before breakfast..again doctor has told me to take gluconorm Sr 1.gm.now,i have confusion is i have diabetes or not.

A fasting sugar level of 222 and a post-prandial (after food) sugar level of 237 are definitely indicators of diabetes. The medication wjich you have been prescribed - Gluconorm - is a medication to keep the sugars under control.
The reason why your sugar level has come down to 138 is because of taking the medication. In other words, it is the medication which is controlling the sugar, and if you stop it, your sugars will increase again. Remember, diabetes is a chronic illness and regular medication will only keep the sugar levels under control, but not completely cure the disease. You have to be on medication continuously.

Your blood sugar level in the range of diabetes and current criteria for diagnosis for Diabetes are Fasting blood sugar level >125 mg.dl and PPPBS is >200 mg.
You are taking abti diabetic medicine Gluconorm which is good drug for diabetes type II.
You should take care of your diet and also take up regular waling daily 3 to 4 km. This helps to keep fit as well as control blood sugar level.
In addition also check your Lipid Profile,Serum creatinine level,micro albumin level in urine and HBA1c for monitoring blood sugar level.
A cardiological check up including EKG should also be done.
If you are over weight try to reduce weight,which will also help you.
