Prescribed Loette. Should I Wait Till First Day Of Menstruation ?
I am a 19 year old female and I have just been to the doctor and been prescribed the pill 'Loette.' I was just wondering if I absolutely have to wait until the first day of my menstrual cycle to start? I know for sure I am not pregnant, and I would love to be able to start earlier. I am using it as an extra contraceptive purpose, and have never been on any other pill before.
Hello Thanks for your query. You could start it midcycle, but then its difficult to regulate the pill sequence. It is ideally recommended to have backup contraception like condoms till the first or second day of the cycle. If you start the pill pack on the first day, you have fewer side effects like intercycle bleeding / spotting and also it is easier for you to follow packs sincerely. Take care.
