Hi Welcome to Healthcare Magic,
Nocturnal enuresis is normal till age 5 years , but needs evaluation if persists further.
Evaluation is usually done either by a
nephrologist or an
endocrinologist.
The causes can be
diabetes incepides , physcogenic polydypsia , renal concentration defects ect which needs evaluation.
If the above said causes are ruled out , then its primary noctural enuresis and treated by following measures-
1)Avoid tea and coffees in the evenings.
2)Avoid having water 1 hr before going to bed.
3)Wake him/her up in the middle of night once to empty bladder.
4)Night alarm systems are available too .
5)Encourage keeping bed dry by gifting him with something he/she loves on days when she doesnt wet her bed .
6)after all this - medications -
Desmopressin spray or
Imipramine tab can work , but with a doctors consultation please.
Hope this was helpful....
