Problems In Ovulating Due To Presence Of Ovarian Cyst. Prescribed Progesterone. Light Periods, Spasm In Stomach, Erratic Bbt. Related To Cyst?
Hi, I have had problems ovulating an I have a small ovarian cyst. My Dr prescribed progesterone to kick start ovulation, which worked last month, according to my basal body temps. However, my period arrived for 2 days and was very light. 5 days on and I am getting increased spasming in my stomach, is this related to the cyst? My bbt has been very erratic for the past 4 days high one day / low the next.
Hi, Progesterone is known to induce cyst burst by promoting ovulative actions and equally will help regulate the hormonal cycle thus the menstrual cycle. This cycle has feed back mechanisms that will torch up to the hormonal axis (hypothalamus - hypophyseal axis) thus releasing the other hypophyseal hormones including oxytocin that has muscle cell actions. Thus the spasms is not due to the cyst but rather to the treatment.
Thanks
