Prolonged Heel Spurs In Feet. No Help From Steroid Shots, Stretching, Icing, Wearing Tennis Shoes. What To Do?

I have had heels spurs in my feet for 4 years. I am not over weight, and I do not know what to do. I am 51 years old. I have seen several doctors and have done all of the continuous stretching and icing, steroid shots in the heel. I have purchased orthotics for 300.00 bucks. I have a Treadmill, Weight machine which I have quit using. I recently purchase a recumbent bike, and when using I notice my heel spurs become inflamed. I weight 160 pounds @ 5"6" inch's. I have been wearing tennis shoes for 4 years with orthotics. I just don't know what else to do. I still work fulltime, and I feel as if no ones cares or want to hear about my problem. When I talk to people about it they always say. Are you still having trouble with your feet, by end of day I find myself limping somewhat. I do see a Podiatrist and have seen several different ones to see if I can find one that will help me get rid of the heel spurs or Plantar Facissitts as they call it, but no luck. They all give steroid shots and tell me to ice and stretch. I just give up. Please help.
Thank You,
Debbie

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The persistent heel spurs that are not getting relieved even after the local steroid shots need a surgical removal. You can talk to your orthopedic surgeon and plan for the surgery.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
