It is bacteria and spread through droplet infection. Droplets are produced by coughing. So you should wear mask for the first two months to prevent spread of infection. Treatment is for prolonged duration (6 months). This long treatment is needed to prevent relapse. So don t stop treatment in between, complete the full six months of treatment. AKT 4 contains rifampicin, isoniazid, pyrazinamide and ethambutol. These drugs commonly cause gastritis and vomiting. So better to avoid hot and spicy food when you are taking AKT 4. Take antacid to prevent drug induced gastritis. Take high protein diet like pulses, vegetables and fruits. This will improve immunity and give quicker improvement. Don t worry, you will be alright.
