Provide Suggestions For Grey Coverage For Facial Hair

Dear Doctor, Please let me know your suggestion for the following Background: I am male 45 and my mustache got few white hairs (approximately 1 in 200)initially. I used the herbal and indica hair die on my mustache since from six months.recently it creates burning sensation and creates white patches (not 100 % white) on my mustache skin, so avoided the dye and no dye application since from six months. One of the doctor suggested keraglo men tab no.30 and Revlon hair die for mustache ( since my head hair is good in black color only). My question is 1. why I am not getting my skin back to normal color even avoid the dye applications. 2. Whitened patched skin converts all my black hairs in mustache to white, can t I get it back the black color hair with normal skin?

Hi,

Your skin seems hypersensitive to dye chemical. I advise you to avoid application of any color or dye to the hairs. The chemical PPD is a toxic and can damage the pigment producing cells of the skin leading to either leucoderma or hypermelanosis. Keep the hair as they are. After stopping the application of dye, skin may become normalise gradually. Relax and avoid anxiety.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilyas Patel, Dermatologist
