Provide Treatment For Inability To Move The Fingers Caused After Procrit Injection
thank you. i have GFR of12 and not on Daialystsyt. i received a procrit injectiion of 20,000 iu at 9 pm on Monday. after the inj was given, this dr rubbed the inj area. this was my 9th inj. never had the area rubbed befoe. my hand on Wednesday felt weird/ by thursday numbness and tingling then swelling and syper pain/ i can no longer move my fingers and wrist. i went to see my dr and he said he thought it was an acute case of gout. i was given a cortizone inj and had lab work to check if really gout by checking urea levels. for pain i was givenhydrocodone every 6 hours. oral pill. swelling noy going away and pain goes away for about 3/5 to 4 hrs then u have to wait till the 6 hrs are up to take the next dose. if i lower my hand the poinding pain increases! because of myESRD stage 5 my optios are limited. Can you help me?
Swelling after Procrit injection is very unlikely and might require regular medication to recover. Kindly consult your treating nephrologist for further treatment and safest drugs.
