Puncture Wound With Swelling On Arm After Bitten By Staffordshire Bull Terroir. Taken Tetanus Injection, Oral Augmentin
I was bitten by a Staffordshire bull terroir 4 days ago. I obtained a puncture wound to my left arm. This area bled and became swollen immediately. At the local walk in cente, I received a tetanus injection and was given a 7/7 dose of oral augmentin. Since then my arm continues to remain swollen, in fact it is slightly worse. It is not bruised, nor is there any erythema. But very hard to touch. Moreover, I have developed numbness to the area. Is this normal? Should I seek further advice or wait until I have finished my antibiotics.
Hello, Welcome to healthcare magic, Numbness can be a sign of nerve injury. I feel you should see a doctor now rather than waiting. I will also recommend anti rabies shot. Keep the arm elevated to decrease swelling and take rest. Hope this helped, Take care
