Pyrexia, Raised Temperature, Increased Intracranial Pressure Risk. Given Paracetamol. When Can Aspirin Be Given?
if a person has no longer risk of increased intracranial pressure, can he be given aspirin or paracetamol to decrease his temperature and blood cultures taken to determine the cause of pyrexia? or raise temperature could be a sign of increased icp ..the temp was 38.5....would it always be managed by paracetamol if there is risk of iicp ?
Welcome to HCM. Paracetamol is comparatively safe drug for fever then aspirin. When ever there is fever, you can take paracetamol to control the fever but the cause of fever should be rule out and start antibiotic accordingly. tape water sponging is helpful to control the fever. consult your doctor for further diagnosis and medical management of fever.
