Reason For Having Problem With Sleeping After Quitting Smoke?
I don t feel well, haven t ever since I quit smoking about five months ago. I am always tired, don t sleep well, try to eat healthy but continue to put on weight. I try to walk or bike in the evenings after work unless I am too exhausted. My doctor wanted to do a sleep study but my health insurance wont pay for it and I cant afford the cost of the study. I have a history of hypothyroidism, but my doctor doesn t think its thyroid related. Im having headaches the last few days like a belt is around my head getting tighter. Any suggestions.
Belt around head causing headache suggest that you are having tension headache. This may be due to insomnia. I dont think this could be due to hypothyroidism.
I have some tips for you: Dont go for vigorous exercises in evening. Dont dwell on emotional issues everytime especially before bed. Avoid heavy meals in night. Donot consume tea coffee alcohol in nighttime. Take warm water bath and have a glass of warm milk at bedtime.
Sleep inducing drugs like ativan or zolpidem (prescription drugs) can be used.
Hope this helps. Thanks.
