my partner wears hearing aids, he has for 17 years as he as hard of hearing. But for the past 3 years he s been in and out of hospital as he gets loss of the hearing he has, dizziness, hot/cold sweats and shocking nose bleeds. The doctors have never come across this case before. They have run lots of blood tests, an MRI scan and check ups but never found anything. It is really scary as I feel 100% helpless. General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query and concerns for your partner.
Noted the history for using hearing aids for 17 years. Has been getting dizziness, hot and cold sweats, and nose bleeds. There is no diagnosis in spite of all the tests and MRI he has.
I think there was not a proper evaluation.
I would advise him the following:
- First of all to get an appointment with an ENT Surgeon and get clinical examination, ENT Endoscopy, CT scan of the nose and sinuses to get an appropriate diagnosis for the nose bleeding as this is most dangerous.
Once diagnosed well which can be due to Hematological problems or a mass or a blood vessels that pops on increased blood pressure or so on, proper treatment can stop this problem.
Then to concentrate on other parts like reducing hearing and so on. This can be due to sudden increase in blood pressure or some medical disorder that needs real detailed study of the case and clinical evaluation ,
Once a proper diagnosis is made the treatment plan can help your partner to come out of the problems.
