Recommended Injections For Osteoporosis. Do These Injections Have Side Effects?
I have osteoporosis and have tried all the medications. My problem is that I have side effects that I cannot live with since I work full time and on my legs a lot. My gyn is now recommending I see a rheumatologist and may have to go on injections. I have read there are terrible side effects from the injections. What are your thoughts on this. I am a young 63 in good shape and other than high cholesterol which is treated with generic Lipitor I am on no other medications.
Check your bone strength with DEXA SCAN and you can start medication according to level of osteoporosis, You need to start supplement of calcium with vitamin D, vit B12, and if osteoporosis is severe then bisphophonates injection can be started. Yes those ijection have side effects but less than bisphosphonate tablets. I will advise you to do regular physiotherapy and exercises as my patients find much relief by these therapies.
You need to take diet rich in calcium and vitamin D.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
