Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having rectal bleeding since yesterday. It caused by diarrhea and seems it s not hemorrhoids . It s a small cut at anus opening. I have bought Himalaya Pilex ointment and Cremaffin stool softener. I am also taking sitz baths. I am also trying to take more fibers through Apple, Dry figs. Is there anything specific I need to avoid in food?
After going through your query , i guess you might be suffering from FISSURE IN ANO. Fresh bleeding and the cut around the anus favors the diagnosis of Fissure.
If it were to be Hemorrhoids , the bleeding is described as SPLASH ON A PAN i.e the blood sprinkles on the pan before passing stools. As you have not mentioned anything like that you are right about it being not Hemorrhoids.
The Treatment you are presently using is appropriate. The main part of treatment is stool softening. Cremaffin will help you in that.
As far as your diet is concerned , you are supposed to take food rich in fiber which you are already doing. Try to take low fat diet.Avoid alcohol and smoking. Take plenty of fluids.
Oranges and pear fruits and whole grains are rich in fiber.
Wish you good health
Take care
