Recurred Swollen, Painful Outer Ear, Drained. On Antibiotics. Can Bandaging Wait?

I am a 39 year old man who has an autoimmune system and after having cellulitis in the legs was put on antibiotics for two weeks- thought it cleared up-One morning woke up with a swollen outer ear with pain- was drained and the next day it came back- went to the ER and they drained it and was told to see an ENT-today-cannot get an appointment until Thursday- can it wait that long without changing the bandage- still on antibiotics-

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

No, Any collection in outer ear needs be drained early, as it can reduce blood supply to cartilage results in destruction of cartilage. Any bandage needs to be changed if it gets soaked, because that itself can act as source of infection.
Better you consult doctor earliest and get it evaluated.
continue antibiotics.

Hope this helps you.

Regards
