Recurrent Chest Pain, Chest Tightness, Burning Throat, Painful Neck Glands. Negative ECG, Angiogram, Endoscopy

Hi I have recurrent chest pain for over 15 months now. It progressed into vicelike chest pains whenever exertion was undertaken. After 6 months of being treated with Omeprazole and Gaviscon with no success I was sent for ECG, Angiogam, endoscopy ..all came back negative. I was then diagnosed with Costocondritis and commenced on Ibrufen with no effect, then naproxen with a little effect, then onto steroid Prednisolone with no effect and back to naproxen. I have now been started on a beta blocker which has lessened the vicelike chest pain on exertion however the constant tightness around my chest, and stabbing stitch in my rib cage has returned. I have also had a sore or burning throat since April this year and my neck glands can become very painful. They are now staying it is not Costocondritis as it has not reacted or responded to the treatment but they don t know what it is, the stabbing pains are increasing and taking a deep breathe is very painful.

Dear friend
Thanks for your query to Healthcare Magic

I read your concern and your symptoms are more likely to be Pulmonary embolism or Pleuritis as it is painful in deep breaths .
I suggest you to go for CT Chest to get solution for your chest pain.
I suggest you to take antibiotics with tacrolimus to reduce chest pain .

You can ask me furthur if you have any queries or any associated symptoms..
Take Care
Regards
Dr. J.Kingson John David
