Red Bruise On Left Earlobe. Is There Anything To Worry?
I woke up this morning with a red bruise on my left earlobe . No injury that I am aware of. I do sleep with a CPAP mask but the headgear should not have been anywhere near the ear lobe. The bruise is about 1/2 long. I am 70 yoa, 5 9 and weigh 225. I have lost 65lbs in the last year. I have had stents installed about 6 years ago and no trouble since then. Earlobe was fine when I went to bed last night. Thanks
The red bruise in the ear lobe can be due to a multitude of causes, lets try to run by some of the common ones which can serve as your checklist:
1. Did you accidentally put more pressure on the ear while your were sleeping and/ or did the tubing which connects the headgear to the CPAP come in contact with the ear? 2. Did you experience any sharp pain in the night? try remembering, it could be a bug or insect bite too 3. Are you under medication like the blood thinners (like aspirin or clopidogrel) which can cause bruise in the smallest of trauma 4. If the bruising persists of worsens then go for a full coagulation profile
hope you recover soon
