Red Spot Behind Tongue, Spots On Roof Of Mouth, Throat Pain. Habit Of Chewing Tobacco. Treatment?
I have a dark red spot on the back of my tongue , near the side. Also, I have a few small red spots on the roof of my mouth, and frequent pain in my throat on the same side the red spot is on when swallowing . What could this be? I m 20 years old, chewed smokeless tobacco for about 2 years. I feel fine, but I just today noticed this when brushing my teeth ..
I take it these red spots are symptomless & were an incidental finding while brushing your teeth.
Do you or have you suffered from any fevers or upper respiratory illness in the recent past & or have you taken a course of medications or on any medications for any illness?
However, Dermatology is a visual line & as such, one would prefer a clear digital image of the lesion & you may upload it on this site using the upload data icon to the right of your screen.
It may be a touch tricky with intraoral photos.
Please feel free to see a dentist or a dermatologist at the earliest as this may require a biopsy to be taken as also blood tests to see the platelet integrity, numbers etc
Do wish you good health & hope this is soon cleared & do refrain from chewing this tobacco as it does predispose one to oral cancers in the long run.
regds & best wishes.
