Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Red Spot On Shin, Grown In Size, White Center With Red Ring Around It. Causes?
On Sunday i noticed a small red dot, approximately 1 cm in diamter on my shin. I woke up this morning and the red spot is now a little larger than the size of a dime and it looks white in the middle, with a red ring around it. It does not itch , or hurt or anything. I m completely unaware of it until I look at it. What could it be?
It could be -
1. an allergic reaction to something that touched your skin,
2. an irritant (non-allergic) reaction, or
3. a fungal infection (ringworm),
4. any number of other things.
A dermatologist needs to see it in person to narrow down the possibilities.
So i advise you to consult a dermatologist to locally examine your lesion and diagnose it. Then you should apply locally as per his advice. Otherwise you may try our premium forum by posting the photo of your lesion so that we can diagnose it and advise you properly.
Thank you.
