Red Tissue After Urination, Was Not Mucus. Culture Showed Strep. Am I Okay?
I recently passed about a 1/4 inch red piece of tissue when urinating, definitely from my ureter. It wasn't mucus, more like skin. 5 months ago I passed a lot of grayish mucous when urinating, went to doctor for UA and was told nothing on dipstick, but culture showed group B strep. I took 500 mg Pen VK qid for 10 days and was told no need for f/u. Could the red tissue be from Group B?
Hello Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have recurrent UTI. The red tissue that you have mentioned about is mucosal lining of the bladder that gets shade away . Please get your urine culture and sensitivity done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.
Start taking antibiotics of Quinolone group and switch on to antibiotics as per culture report after getting the report.
Get the prescription of drugs from your family Physician.
Ensure to drink more water.
Do not worry this will get cured in 10 days. Dr,patil.
