Reddish Mark On The Nose Getting Bigger. Bleeding. Need To Get Checked?
Have a red mark on my nose, been there for a while now started small and has slightly got bigger and more noticable, and for the first time this morning after getting out of the shower started bleeding from it and it took a while to stop, have been to see my doctor twice he just told me should be nothing to be bothered about but just to keep an eye on it and make sure you use sunblock when you go out. I will be getting another appointment asap for the doctor again this week. Any more suggestions.
Hi and thanks for the greater, If the mark is growing bigger, its worth getting evaluated. Other aspects like pain , malaise or fever should be precised. However,is it the first time you are experiencing this? A history of excessive bleeding when you have a wound? Any abnormal abdominal mass? It would necessary to evaluate your clotting profile. Complete blood count to know the number of platelets, Liver function tests to evaluate the clotting profile (prothrombine time, CK time) and an abdominal ultrasound to evaluate the spleen size and liver size are initial exams that could give a good picture of what s actually going on. I suggest you book an appointment with a hematologist. Thanks and best regards, Luchuo, MD.
