Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Redness, Swelling, Frozen Knee Due To Arthrofibrosis. Treatment?
I have had primary recurring arthrofibrosis in my left knee for over 30 years. It was not even properly diagnosed until Dec. 2012. I underwent several surgeries to restore my ROM; however, to no avail. My knee is as frozen today as it was in 1980. It is red, hot, swollen etc. ROM no more than 65 flexion and a 15 degree quad lag weight bearing. Cannot straighten when weight bearing either. Are there really only a handful of orthopedic surgeons in the USA that have any true experience with this condition? I am at a loss as to what to do.
as depends on recurent arthrofibrosis you can expect more than corrective surgeries as if you can find the cause of recurence as they may be food protein reaction or external protein reactions you need to consult allergy doctor to find the proteins reacting with body proteins to stop them and you will have no recurence mean while physiotherapyrehabilitation exercises muscle relextant tabs and ointments may help you
