I JUST RECEIVED A REPORT OF MY BASOS AS .5, IS THAT GOOD? MY a1c IS DOWM FROM 9.6 TO 7.4. I AM ON THE PUMP. MY BLOOD SUGAR IS OVER 600 FOR THE FIRST TIME AND I GAVE MYSELF 12 UNITS OF HUMOLOG AND IT WENT DOWN TO 583. 15 MINUTES LATER IT IS IVER 600 AGAIN. I GAVE ANOTHER 12 UNITS. I JUST GOT OUT OF HOSPITAL WITH THE FLU AND COPD AND I M TAKEN35MG PF PREDNISONE . IS THIS NORMAL

The steroid therapy(Prednisolone) which you're taking might be the reason for such high blood sugar value.
If your symptoms of COPD improves then you can taper the dose of the steroid and eventually stop.
