I was working with a cement saw in my basement and failed to wear ear protection. Now I have ringing in my ear and a little pain or discomfort associated with it. could I have ruptured my ear drum. Yesterday at work I scratched the back of my ear and had a sharp pain and maybe drainage. I know I did some hearing damage. however could I have blow an eardrum. I see an audiologist tomorrow.
Hi. The high pitch noise can cause a rupture of the ear rum as you rightly suspect. And the ringing can be due to an injury to the hearing apparatus. Your ENT specialist ( Audiologist) will be in a position to tell you as he will conduct various examination.
